Harry's in Traben-Trarbach

A figurehead for good German cuisine

Rather simple rooms, but very clean and perfect for us as a group. The friendly service and the rich breakfast were really great

We really enjoyed our stay here. Our room was very clean and cozy, the beds comfortable and the breakfast delicious. The food and drinks in the restaurant were terrific, rarely eaten so well ;-)

We had an excellent stay with amazing hosts! I recommend letting Harry surprise you with his culinary skills as well for dinner!

One thing in advance: this evaluation has NOTHING to do with the quality of the dishes, etc. (because it never came to that point), but is simply the logical consequence of several unsuccessful reservation attempts. We were with several friends at the Traben-Trarbacher Christmas market and would have loved to graduate from Harry's restaurant. So I tried in good time and for days to reach the restaurant by phone at the number given. Apart from the busy signal, the redirection to the mailbox of a cell phone connection and also simple "do not answer" nothing happened. But I'm persistent there. At some point my call (it could have been about 20 by now) was rerouted somewhere and even a woman answered it. After I had expressed my reservation request, I was immediately informed that the restaurant was closed. I then asked whether it was only now or generally closed. Answer: The restaurant is closed and the conversation was over. Now I happened to know from a friend of a friend that the restaurant was very open. So I looked at the homepage, which literally says: "Have we sparked your curiosity? Then just drop in or send us an email." That is exactly what I did (send mail), but I still have no answer to this email to this day, about 2 weeks later and long after the Christmas market visit. I am sure that all people who rated Harry's restaurant with 4.7 stars on average were guaranteed to have positive reasons why they did so. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to convince ourselves of this quality. However, it is also the case that customer communication is an important point and it definitely does NOT take place here !!! The motto is: Whoever comes is there and as long as the shop is always well staffed, everything is great! There is no other way to assess this behavior!

Actually by chance with friends who were visiting, "landed there" and loved it! Not eaten so well for a long time and on top of that very friendly staff .... that was definitely not the last time!

One of the rare stays where you are completely satisfied. Top cuisine, warm service and a neat ambience. Gastronomy is lived here wholeheartedly. Two restaurateurs, they do not do that just to make money. Absolute recommendation.

Went to this restaurant on a Thursday after 6 pm but it was closed without a notice of closure online or at the restaurant door. I called on Friday to make a reservation but no one answered the phone. Whatever the reason for the closure was, a notification of closure should have been posted.

Set within a large arched commodious cellarage, the surroundings and food were of high quality with friendly and efficient service. A memorable dining for a special event!

We enjoyed the stay very much. Accommodation, dinner and breakfast top. The hosts are very nice. At any time and gladly again!

This restaurant quickly came up with good reviews on all kinds of forums so it was an obvious choice to try but therefore also a risk that the reality would be less than the online hype ... But from the first minute after our arrival, we realized that we would not be disappointed. The hostess is super friendly and serves you in all languages, so also fluently in Dutch. The limited fixed menu is extended with daily suggestions and even on the extensive wine list we received an additional suggestion from a gem of local pinot noir that they had only just discovered themselves but would perfectly match our dishes. Personal service at its best! We enjoyed the small, intimate terrace at the front that stands in a pedestrian street and where we sat very comfortably. The amuse-gueule was immediately a big surprise: sour herring in a deliciously seasoned yoghurt sauce. Wow. Very successful unique combination that was a taste bomb. This was followed by a combo of the homemade cheese and shrimp croquettes as an appetizer. The main course chateaubriand was served by the chef himself with a personal and Flemish touch. Harry's is a hidden gem in this quiet old city district. For this alone we would return to this city. Eating at Harry's was the highlight of our Moselle weekend in Traben-Trarbach!

Guesthouse with a sublime chef at the stove, the best wines and comfortable rooms where every guest is a friend.

Stayed with Harry and Sylvia for the first time. The room was very good with very good beds and very clean. The breakfast was very tasty but the food in the evening was certainly worthy of five stars as well as the service by Sylvia. We will definitely go back this year. Tears Trarbach is also a beautiful town with nice walks. Sylvia and Harry thanks for the nice week with you.

We were four in June (bike troupe) in Harry's wine shop. From the first moment to the departure it was a completely successful stay. Very clean, very attractive, an almost family atmosphere - just great. In addition to the great ambience, the excellent cuisine MUST be mentioned. Rarely so well fed, both dinner and breakfast - outstanding. We will be back!

A huge selection of drinks, delicious snacks and probably the cleanest toilet in an inn I've ever seen.

This is a 5 star establishment. ***** The wine tasting is the best, the food is amazing and Silvia and Harry's do their very best to make the stay comfortable and entertaining. I highly recommend it for anyone embracing German culture and wanting a great vacation (holiday)

Harry's Restaurant is a fantastic place to eat! The service is great and the food is spectacular. My fiancé and I went there for Valentine's weekend and were treated like royalty. We both had the Chateaubriand, it was out of this world. Probably the best piece of beef I've ever had! If you're going to Traben-Trarbach, don't miss dinner at Harry's. If you're not going to Traben-Trarbach, then you might want to rethink your plans!
